Dimensions: 0.34m n-s, 0.26m w-e, 0.26m thick 

Discussion: Fill of post-hole cut [2741], very mixed with quite a lot of evidence for burning and high density of finds. The broken clay balls were concentrated in the upper part of the deposit. The combination of burning and broken clay balls is reminiscent of the oven in space 112, was this fill from an oven rake-out or destruction?

Condition: warm and bright 

Consistency: moderately weak 

Colour: mainly 10YR 5/3 brown 

Texture: sandy silt loam 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: ashy material - 20%, small pieces charcoal - 5%, bone frags - 2%, clay ball frags - 2% 

Post-depositional Features: none apparent 

Basal Boundary: abrupt, distinct, smooth, inclined downwards into centre
