This was mostly dug away with floors (2756) before realising it was a feature. The fill is very dense & not primary material. Therefore it is possible that it was deposited immediately after a burning event & the heat therefore scorched this material i.e. it was a 'bedding' deposit.

This was found at floors (2756) however its not certain whether it was associated with Mellaart's late floors, the gradual sides implies it to be associated with these floors however.

Texture: silty clay
