Description: prob VIB 

Discussion: 2 courses of brick forming wall 68, the remnants of an E-W wall running to the east of the excavated ... The remains of this were heavily eroded and rapidly disappearing. 

Recognition: Distinctive colour and texture - reddish brown brick. 

Definition: Clearly defined from mortar withinn wall. 

Execution: Trowel. 

Condition: Dry and crumbly. 

Consistency: Very firm / compact. 

Colour: Orangish brown. 

Texture: Silty. 

Bedding: Massive. 

Inclusions: 5% charcoal (flecks and small pieces); 2% phytoliths (small pieces); 2% ash; <2% burnt clay; 2% bone; occasional hackberries. 

Post-depositional Features: Salts and animal intrusion. 

Basal Boundary: A sharp constructional boundary. The contrast between bricks / mortar was prominent and the interface smooth and fairly level and marked with salt accumulation.
