Discussion: (2877) consists of the brick material, used for the upper 2 courses of wall [61]. It was a hard and homogeneous material and clearly distinguishable from the other materials in the wall. 

Recognition: Clear colour and textual difference from [56] to east 

Definition: Defined by salt encrustation and cracking 

Execution: Trowel and Pick 

Condition: Dry and hot 

Consistency: Very firm 

Colour: Light yellowish brown 10YR 6/4 

Texture: Sandy 

Bedding: Massive - Very homogeneous 

Inclusions: Very few - <2% Charcoal ; <2% plant silicates ; occasional hackberries; <2% shell 

Post-depositional Features: Animal burrowing and salt encrustation 

Basal Boundary: Very clear, sharp constructional boundary with a smooth and level interface between (28770 and (2878)
