Unit 30139
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Accumulation layer/packing
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Not excavated 2013. Seems to be infill in space 18, very compound. Unsure if it is below u.30161, we will see coming seasons.
Continuation 2014:
This unit was excavated with trowel. It was recognized already in 2013. It was a very compound and rubbely layer in space 18, above a phytolith floor layer (u.30161) and below one other such floor (u.30953). It had inclusions of brick clay and superstructe and was not rich in finds. It seems therefore (amongst other) to be some sort of packing for the floor above. Probably it was accumulated on site and then packed (it was very hard pressed into and disturbed the below floor).
