Unit 30184
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Compund of plaster, clay packing + poss. Organics
Data Category Information: Location: building; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Compound layer consisting of three different deposits: white plaster (up to 6cm in thickness), light brown clay (3cm thickness) and a loose, very crumbly dark reddish brown deposit of 1 cm depth at the base. This unit was excavated on the last day of the field season 2013 and was taken as an arbitrary layer because the sediments were cracking on top of the loose, dark deposit and were probably going to collapse before the next field season.
The dark, possibly organic layer at the bottom has been sampled for both palaeobotany and geochemistry, as we could not figure out what the nature of this deposit is.
Consistency: Firm
Colour: White (plaster, light brown (clay packing), dark brown (base, possibly organic layer)
Texture: Clay and silty clay
Bedding: Compound layered
Inclusions: Charcoal
Post-depositional Features: None

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
