Unit 30231
Category: Cut dug in 2013
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: Pit Cut
Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: The cut was recognized by taking out the fill 20702. It was possibly made to accommodate storage vessels, however due to the flat base of the unit, this seems unlikely. The roundness and flat base of the cut and the shallow nature make it hard to determine its origin. It is a distinctive cut into the surrounding neolithic material. There are several other pits of the same kind within this cut's vicinity. The unit was excavated by trowel. It was originally formed by cutting into the surrounding burnt material (u. 20703)
Shape: round but extends beyond edge of trench to north
