Unit description: A small unit with almost all material burnt black (i.e. low temperature charring). Surface condition not bad, but many small fragments make assessment difficult. There is a single cattle tooth present, plus some cattle horn core fragments, and 07 size long bone frags. Also, a sheep/goat mandible with most of the teeth present, and some sheep-size long bone and indeterminate fragments. An antler fragment with modern break joins with a larger piece in unit 3037, so has been included with that unit. Does this mean that 3030 and 3037 are stratigraphically one, or that this antler piece poked up between two layers? 4mm flot sample done (sample 2). Sample 3 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. A few little bits of sheep-size scrap, all burnt nicely black (except for one dark brown), none weathered. Small bit of special deposit of which this unit is a part, burnt postdepositionally. Last number = F26Figurine Records: Yes
