Unit 30302
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: make up
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: This is a very distinguishable layer of dark orange make up, which covered mostly western platform (F. 1863), as well as some part of central part of the main space (Sp. 236). We decided to remove both make up from the platform and from the central part of the space under the same unit number because of the character of the excavation in this building (building has been excavated by J. Mellaart and has been exposed to the weather condition since then. Therefore it is badly eroded. The main goal is to reach new building which is located underneath as fast as possible).
In the central part of the space make up was very patchy and thin (up to 2 cm) It covered only small part of the space. On the other hand, make up located on the platform (F. 1863) was very thick (up to 10 cm), homogenous and covered almost all of the platform space.
