Data Category Information: Description: pit

 

Discussion: This cut was identified largely by a change in soil color as the pit infill was removed and extended closer to the unit's extent. Whereas the infill soil was a mix of grey/brown, the section presently visible, as this unit, the cut, is of a fairly homogenous white (top) and grey (bottom) and shows two layers, parenthetically noted just now.

It should be noted however that the section defined here is not definitively real, with the slight raise in the north being artificaly cut less than the basin area.

As the cut goes along the south and west walls it may need to be furthered closer to the wall since in several cases it is unclear if the exposed surface is remnant infill.
