Discussion: It was recognised by the change in colour between the plaster and the makeup. This unit was found on the east wall, the plaster was the first stage of the niche. It was excavated using a trowel. By removing the plaster layer we discovered the earlier makeup and earliest phase of the plaster. 

Consistency: firm, compact 

Colour: grey white 

Texture: clay, chalk 

Bedding: compound 

Inclusions: charcoal pieces, pebbles 

Post-depositional Features: cracks 

Basal Boundary: clear
