Unit 3039

Category: layer    dug in 1998

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: fill

Data Category Information: Location: between walls; Deposition: heterogeneous

Dimensions: extent unknown, thickness: over 0.3m

Discussion: Apparently this context partly sits on top of the earliest wall and continued all the East end. That also makes upper deposit layers different event because the other deposit layers looked like have a break due to the oven which cuts into them in the South wall.

According to the order of the events
1) if we think the burnt material related to the building 1 due to the placement of the oven in the south wall phasing must be miscalculated.

2) if we think that the burnt material entirely different event than oven which ever the phase post-dates? (later?) than the burnt material.

3) in the last course of the bricks are butts to this fill in the South East corner. That is why we think upper layers are separate events.
