Discussion: Originally excavated as part of (3021) this layer could subsequently be identified as a separate entity. It is one of a series of dump layers which so not appear to be part of a midden but instead seem to represent a burnt building. 

 

Recognition: colour and the position of the small size brick pieces 

Definition: from the angle of the brick clumbs and pieces 

Execution: not excavated 

Condition: loose and dry 

Consistency: loose 

Colour: 10 YR 7/3 very pale brown and 3/1 very dark grey 

Texture: silty clayey loam 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: brick agg. (>4cm amd > 10%), charcoal (> 1cm and 10%) 

Post-depositional Features: salts, natural 

Basal Boundary: diffuse, irregular, boundary
