Unit 30530
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Infill in contact with skeleton 30531
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial
Description: Same as 21112 (except for phytoliths and shells inclusions)
Discussion: When skeleton 30531 appeared into the infill u.21112 of PLT F.2177 no cut was found. It seems that the burial F.7334 was thus made at the same time that this part of the platform was filled up. We have thus created an arbitrary cut to distinguish part of infill u.21112 which was in contact with the skeleton. This arbitrary layer being part of burial F.7334 and not PLT F.2177 even if nothing distinguishes it from infill u.21112. At the top of this layer, just above the skeleton, a black spot with a lot of charcoals has been sampled. But it is possible that this concentration is due to the burrow sitting just below.
Consistency: Soft to strong (very heterogeneous)
Colour: Mostly light brown but with a lot of inclustions -> black; light red; light gray; dark gray
Texture: Heterogeneous; mostly silty with clay inclusions - Burrows infills are very ashy.
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: Building materials: Mortar < 10% (medium to large); Burnt brick ~10% (medium to large); Plaster > 10% (medium); Clay and daub material - 10% (medium); Phytoliths - under the skeleton 30531 >2% (flecks); Shell - next to the skeleton 30531 <2% (flecks)
Post-depositional Features: Burrows (rodent)
Basal Boundary: Abrupt/constructional (PLT floor)/distinct and wavy

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
X Finds Material: nothing recorded
