Discussion: 1990's backfill from current excavation program, filling/covering most of the N.E. corner of the south shelter, below Mellaart's 1965 section. The Area to the immediate north of B.43 was opened to expose B.118, Sp.510 (Mellaart House 25, L.XII) - This represents the excavated dimensions of the unit as described above.

This is a modern deposit, and is not fully excavated.
Number assigned predominantly to track finds, no sample taken, not sieved.

This area may have previously had a sieving station upon it. 

Consistency: Loose 

Colour: Mid-Dark Grey Brown. 

Texture: Silt. 

Bedding: Layered, consisting of parallel layers of tip lines. 

Inclusions: Almost none, previously sieved in the 1990's. 

Post-depositional Features: N/A 

Basal Boundary: Clear interface with in situ archaeological deposits - v. sharp.
