Unit 30718
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: Pit fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: pit; Deposition: homogeneous; Basal Spit: basal deposit
Discussion: This unit was recognized as circular and loose infill of pit F.7163. Process of establishing edges/boundary of this unit was easy because of its different colour-- grey and loose consistency of soil. This pit seems to be cut into the Neolithic deposit. Perhaps it truncated the Neolithic wall-structure in its south-east side. All time it was excavated by trowel. This pit contained few finds: pottery sherds, animal bones, and flakes of obsidian. It is hard to define the origin of this structure. There are a few similarities to other pit features, mostly grey infill and circular in shape.
Consistency: loose
Colour: grey
Texture: silty loam
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: charcoal, deposit of calcium
Post-depositional Features: animal burrows
Basal Boundary: difference in hardness of soil-- bottom and on edge more hard. Different color of soil; became more yellow/orange.
