Discussion: (3165) represents a brick like unit of material which lay directly beneath 92873). initially it did not appear to have any clear association with a wall feature, so could have been part of the very mixed "rubbishy" fills which were deposited beneath and above it. However, on excavation, it appeared to extend into wall [56] to the west, and seems to have been part of the construction of this, and may be the same as brick type (3120). This should be clarified on excavation of the remainder of [56]

Colour: Light yellowish brown 10 YR6/4 

Texture: Sandy silt loam 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Very few - <1% charcoal; <1% clay; <2% bone (medium sized pieces); <2% plant silicates 

Post-depositional Features: Animal burrowing and salt crystalisation 

Basal Boundary: The basal boundary was clear and sharply defined, but the surface was uneven.
