Discussion: Heavily eroded bricks of F8011 N wall of Sp 565, due to being exposed for a very long time it is very hard to estimate the dimensions of the bricks. They seem to be 0.34m wide and 0.10m thick, the length of the bricks due to their poor preservation could not be established. Only the part of unit was excavated due to Sp565 being excavated only partially the rest of it is visible in the section.

The wall was partially excavated in the previous year, and at that time they thought that it had removed the entire wall. This year we confirmed that the wall actually continued further down at the level exposed last year (31614), at which point it had been excavated. So in this season we expose the rest of the wall F8011. Since we didn’t remove the plaster from the inside we cannot add more information from what was described before. Anyway when we dig the remains of Sp 581 we exposed the complete external N side of the wall F8011. During that process we could confirm the height of the wall and that it was built from inside the Sp 565, because of the irregularity of the wall by its outer face. Although we cleaned the external N side of the wall, the courses of bricks and mortar was not clearly defined, but the dimensions of the bricks seems to be 0.30 x0.10. (30.05.2016-- CB)

Colour: dark greyisg brown
