Unit 32087
Category: Cut dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: cut of shallow pit
Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: The cut 3087 outlined the actual edges of the burial F.7747. Originally the cut was circular in plan and bell-shaped in the section. However, the later burials that took place on the spot truncated the primary shape to the south and in 2016 it was possible to record only a crescent shape cut which was truncated by the burial F.7739. Furthermore, in the course of the archaeological research it appeared that the cut 32087 disturbed an earlier burial F.8331. within the cut there was two fills identified upper - 32088, and lower – 32739. Within the lower one there were several human remains recorded. One of them was primary burial Sk. 32741. The other two: 32742, 32743 were identified partially as disturbed earlier inhumations (F.8331, F.8325). The extensive size of the cut in its bottom part allowed placing the individual in the flex position. Worth noticing is that the human remains fixed totally under the undercut overhangs of the cut.
To better understand the circumstances related with the cut and burial please see sketch of the Feature 7747.
