Discussion: Oblong block of plaster and brick in fill of space 154. It is near the platform in the SW corner of space 154. Appears to be plaster brick layer. There are two types of plaster. Plaster one lies in top of the brick like block, plaster two is on sides and underneath the block.

The basal boundary is constructional, very sharp, contrast is prominent, between plaster one and the brick is smooth, no slope, surfaces smooth. Between brick and plaster two is prominent, contrast smooth surfaces but slopes downwards to the south slight.

Plaster two appears to be layers, plaster one is not. This block is possibly part of a feature/ It rests on the fill in space 154 the core is brick like material, and has been covered with plaster on all sides.

Under plaster two there is a darker plaster layer colour is 5YR 5/1 grey, this is called plaster two in the drawing on the paper copy unit sheet.

There are also tow other types of plaster visible, called A and B in the unit sheet drawing. Plaster A is underneath plaster two uncertain as to the relationship between plaster type B and plaster type 2 They appear to abut each other.

Traces of red paint were found during excavation. They appear to come from the plaster layer 2 in one of the layers towards the bottom of the plaster. The unit was removed by half sectioning.

It may be resting against platform in space 154 ( south west corner) or resting against plaster fragments than are not part of the platform.

Recognition: regognised as it is different from the fill in which it lies

Definition: boundaries defined by colour ( eg it is plaster coloured) They are clear

Texture: plaster one is ashy silt, brick is clayey loam, plaster two is ashy clay

Bedding: compound layered

Post-depositional Features: very few roots in the brick material

Basal Boundary: The basal boundary is constructional, very sharp, contrast is prominent, between plaster one and the brick is smooth, no slope, surfaces smooth. Between brick and plaster two is prominent, contrast smooth surfaces but slopes downwards to the south slight.
