Discussion: Unit appears to be unrelated to floor levels around it, suggesting it is the bottom layer of packing for feature 99 rather than a floor level. The material isd greyer and harder than the surrounding plaster floors (TC).

Alternatively, suggests that a remnant of plaster floor surviving under wall F.99 (RT). 

Recognition: Visible raised greyish level over whiter plaster floors. 

Definition: Clear boundaries, slightly crumbly towards N edge. 

Execution: Trowel. 

Condition: Dry. 

Consistency: firm to friable 

Colour: 10 YR 6/4 light yellowish brown (dry) 

Texture: clay/silt 

Bedding: layered? 

Inclusions: >2% charcoal flecks
