Dimensions: 1.90m EW, 0.65m NS, 0.60 - 0.68m deep
Discussion: Byzantine burial fill that contained male robust skeleton (3450). Cut into early Chalcolithic deposits and much early Chalcolithic pottery used as backfill. Cuts through early Chalcolithic mudbrick wall that is roughly oriented N - S.
Recognition: Slightly darker soil and definable cut, mid brown - orange silty sand
Definition: Relatively clear edges on all sides except north, edge definition affected by animal activity in corners
Execution: Trowel and leaf trowel (for skeleton), taken cut from edges of cut and then from cranium of skeleton back
Condition: Dry and dusty
Consistency: Soft and friable
Colour: 10YR 4/3 Brown
Texture: Silty clay loam - 60% silt, 15% sand, 25% clay
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: 50% human bone (skeleton), 30% pottery (mainly early Chalcolithic), 6% animal bone, 3% obsidian, 10% Byzantine tile, 1% beads etc. and stone
Post-depositional Features: Human disturbance at top of cut to eastern side. Animal activity at edges of cut and around extremeties of skeleton (fingers/toes)
