Discussion: Prior to excavation appeared that (3739) would be a thin plaster floor layer, however on excavation found to fill a small hollow, so may be a patch or deliberate backfill again? Adjacent though to small pit (3732). Very close to the edge of excavation noticed a colour change, but whether this significant or represents another unit too close to the edge of excavation to say.
Recognition: Recognised during cleaning, white plaster.
Definition: Clear defined to N by edge of excavation.
Execution: Trowel.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: friable
Colour: 10 YR 7/2 light grey (dry); 2.5 Y 6/3 light yellowish brown (dry) (close to section)
Texture: silty clay
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: occ. >2% charcoal flecks
Post-depositional Features: c.10% salt flecks
Basal Boundary: abrupt/prominent/smooth/concave
