Discussion: Another layer around boundary/edge of oven, however this one had a high % of ash so more like an occupation/use deposit so uncertain of interpretation, ash from fire during construction? Similar deposit in F.87. Generally slightly puzzled by these peripheral deposits on the oven boundaries. 

Recognition: Recognised on excavation of (3756), light grey colour. 

Definition: Clear. 

Execution: Trowel. 

Condition: Dry. Surface; smooth/flat - slightly inclined to SW. 

Consistency: friable (powdery) 

Colour: 10 YR 5/2 greyish brown (dry) 

Texture: clayey silt, high % of ash 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occ. >2% charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: n/a 

Basal Boundary: abrupt/prominent/smooth/flat - inclined slightly to W
