Dimensions: c.0.40 m N-S x c. 0.36 m E-W x c. 0.10 m deep

Discussion: The fill of this pit was quite mixed in properly having chunks of plaster, mortar and brick in it. Besides for a couple of bones nothing else was found within it. The section clearly shows the properties of the fill. No trace was left within the fill that could give us a clue on what the pit was used for. It is an interesting feature, because there is another just across it (3783 fill, 3784 cut) showing pretty much the same shape. Both cut through floors.

Recognition: Colour and texture differs from the same level floors, can notice clear cut.

Definition: A pit located against the E wall in space 159, almost half is covered by a step that was left to keep the wall from falling.

Execution: Trowel. Sectioned (had no choice really!)

Condition: Good.

Colour: 10 YR yellowish brown

Texture: silty clay loam

Bedding: massive
