Dimensions: 3-6 mm thick; 0.5 m N-S x 0.3 m W-E excavated 

Discussion: Same 'slot' as (3875). Consists of a series of thin discontinuous floors trample layers and rake-out layers in the vicinity of a fire installation. 

Recognition: Vertically different colour/texture, horizontally arbitrary edges. 

Definition: Arbitrary. 

Execution: Partially excavated by trowel. 

Condition: Normal. 

Consistency: soft 

Colour: variable; includes 10 YR 5/1 grey' 5 YR 5/8 yellowish red; 7.5 YR 6/2 pinkish grey; 7.5 YR 8/1 white; 10 YR 5/3 brown 

Texture: variable, clay dominant 

Bedding: compound layered 

Inclusions: occasional charcoal flecks, small bone frags, small stones, plant impressions, oven lining frags; all 2% 

Post-depositional Features: human trampling, bioturbation, truncation 

Basal Boundary: anthropogenic/distinct/smooth/flat
