Dimensions: 0.3 m N-S x 0.45 m W-E x 0.11 m deep 

Discussion: Quite mixed deposit in cut (3897). It is to the S of the internal partition F352 and presumably formed the base of a feature related to this partition. It could have functioned either as the base of a pillar or as a post-pad. 

Recognition: Different colour/texture. 

Definition: Edges of deposit. 

Execution: Half sectioned with trowel. 

Condition: Normal. 

Consistency: firm 

Colour: 10 YR 5/3 pale brown + 10 YR 6/2 light brownish grey 

Texture: clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: occasional charcoal flecks 2%, organics small 2% 

Post-depositional Features: vertically truncated 

Basal Boundary: constructional/very sharp/prominent/smooth/sloping downwards into middle c.20 degrees
