Recognition: Seen as mid grey ashy layer with frequent charcoal beneath (3941) and (3940). Two layers beneath taken off with this unit, lack of time.
Definition: Abutts platform in SW, cut by (3932) in W.
Execution: Leaf.
Condition: Evening, no time.
Consistency: moderately compact
Colour: a) 10 YR 4/2 dark greyish brown; b) 10 YR 5/3 brown; c) 10 YR 6/3 pale brown
Texture: a) ash 20% silt 60% clay 20%; b) 40% clay 20% silt; c) 50% ash 50% silt
Bedding: compound, 3 layers, discontinous, roughly parallel
Inclusions: a) frequent charcoal flecks and frags. up to 10 mm, freq. salts, mod. phytoliths; b) freq. phytoliths + salts, occ. charcoal; c) freq. orange lenses and small lumps, freq. phytoliths, occ. charcoal flecks, freq. small salts
Post-depositional Features: salts, cut by (3932) to W
Basal Boundary: clear/sloping to E/anthropogenic/phytoliths on base
