Unit 40020

Category: Layer    dug in 2018

Area: East

Interpretive Categories: arbitrary layer

Data Category Information: Description: cleaning

Discussion: This is another layer of cleaning in 4rd part of the East Area (square 10x10 m). It was pretty homogenuous deposit consisting of light gray compact clay, post-dating the Neolithic. Its origin is not certain. The basal boundary was defined arbitrarily as it was no certain how deep this deposit is as some stone constructions (possibly graves?) became visible. It contained relatively low amount of archaeological materials (large fragments of late pottery). The layer thickness varied in different parts of the square (10 cm in W part, while only 3 cm in E part), as it was decided to level the surface of the square.
