Discussion: Fifteenth layer of floor lenses on platform F239.
This layer was made up of lenses of plaster (labelled 31 on plan 98-639), thin brownish layer (32 on plan) and layer of plaster (33 on plan). There was also a lens of dark material towards the NE area, not seen in section plan. Impossible to separate lenses, so given one unit number.
Recognition: Floor of platform. Colour/texture changes.
Definition: Defined by limit of excavation.
Execution: Leaf trowel and patience.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: compact to medium compact, friable when crushed
Colour: 7.5 YR 6/2 pinkish grey
Texture: ashy clay
Bedding: compound layered
Inclusions: charcoal flecks 5%
Post-depositional Features: animal hole SE corner
Basal Boundary: contrast distinct, but surfaces pitted, cracks
