Unit 4210
Category: cluster dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: obsidian cache
Data Category Information: Location: building; Material: obsidian; Deposition: primary deposition; Basal Spit: flint
Dimensions: 14cm NW-SE x 8.5cm. Depth 5cm
Discussion: Small cluster of obsidian and one flint object with general infill of space 116 (4205) and circa 25cm SSW of large obsidian cluster 4209. The pieces are mainly rough outs for lithic tools though some such as x1 andx6 show little sign of any retouch.
Apparently deposited at the same level and probably contemporary with 4209.
Probably a small cluster once contained within an organic container, now gone.
Although a small depression exists where the objects were removed, ther is no apparent cut and the cluster appaers to have occupied a space within the general infill of space 166. Reason for deposition of roughed out lithics is unclear, though may be related to death of manufacturer
