Unit 4219
Category: cut dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: posthole
Data Category Information: Description: posthole
Dimensions: 0.42m w-e, 0.36m n-s, 0.08m thick
Discussion: Small quite distinct circular cut. Its exact stratigraphic position is unclear as it showed up after a spit of (4205) had been dug. It was definitely sealed by (4168)/(4169) but could conceivably have cut through all of (4205) and have been missed, alternatively it may have been cut during infilling (4205). Its function is unclear, possibly a temporary constructional post-hole.
Recognition: edges of cut, fill looser/different
Definition: edges of cut
Execution: trowel
Condition: normal
Shape: roughly circular
Sides: steep, almost vertical
Base Break: gradual
Base: flat
Orientation: N/A
