Dimensions: 3.50m EW, 0.43m NS, 0.07m deep. 

 

Description: Some sort of a remnant (?) which lies on top of the wall 503. 

 

Discussion: When we removed the top yellowish soil and follow the greyish material. The wall face of F.503, appeared and also the border of the grey fill.

So 4486 may be some sort of (with crubled bricks and mortars (?)) midden which has come over the wall 503 from north. 

 

Recognition: By eye. 

Definition: Differentiated colour & texture. 

Execution: Trowel 

Condition: Dry, compact 

Consistency: Firm, almost compressed silty clayey soil. 

Colour: Yellowish brown. 

Texture: Silty clay 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Slicified plant remains and salts (very small) 

Post-depositional Features: Dist. by insects and roots. 

Basal Boundary: Gradual and wavy.
