Discussion: Series of patchy discontinuous oven rake-out / trample dirty layers in south-east corner of building 18. Very similar to (4530) above but seperated by 'activity horixon' (4531) and without large objects. probably goes with F.I. 473. 

 

Recognition: dirty/ashy 

Definition: upstanding, walls, cut 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: moist 

Consistency: soft 

Colour: dark grey/mid brown 

Texture: ashy silty clay 

Bedding: compound layered 

Inclusions: frequent charcoal, moderate bone, pot, clay ball, shell, stone 

Post-depositional Features: truncated in 1960's 

Basal Boundary: anthropogenic, diffuse, faint, smooth, flat
