Unit 4608
Category: cut dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Basin cut,Post-hole cut
Data Category Information: Description: posthole
Dimensions: 0.50m (N-S) x 0.29m (E-W) x 0.14m deep
Discussion: Elongated cut of a possible post-hole, though very shallow and cut not apparently seen during infill removal. Also respects wall 484 where the plaster lips up, giving an undercutting profile to the cut on the east side. May therefore be the cut for a small basin-like feature.
Recognition: Cut in south-east corner of Space 173
Definition: Clear truncation of lower deposits
Execution: Trowel
Condition: Possibly truncated
Shape: Sub-rectangular
Sides: Steep, becoming concave
Base Break: Sharp
Base: Sloping down to the south
Orientation: North-South
