Discussion: Collapsed or more probably slumped wall material in the SE corner of sp.178 - more prob. slumped as the brick and mortar largely intact ( melt). Couldn't detect any difference between the collapse/slump along the E-W wall with that alongside the N-S wall - apparently cont. around the corner.
Consistency: firm to friable
Colour: dark brownish grey (brick) off-white/pale brown (mortar)
Texture: silty clay (brick); sandy silt (mortar)
Bedding: massive?
Inclusions: occ. clay ball frag; occ. charcoal flecks (in brick & mortar); occ. small bone frags; occ. shell frags;
