Unit 4779
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: mixed; Deposition: composite (floor/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation)
Dimensions: 0.82m NS ~ 0.50m EW
Discussion: This, in minimum 2cm in max. 3-4cm thick plaster/clay floor, is situated on the southern part of the truncation. However, tracing this floor showed that it is getting weaker towards base/cut which is also situated in the north part of F521. And before it reached to the southern wall it disappeared. However, then this floor may still relate to the floors where F521 related and through that the area related to E part of the space.
Towards the S end of the area continuous truncation consantly carried due to re installation bin and fire places. That also creates more difficulty to trace the layers and set up the relations in between.

Unit description: Flot 2902 - completely analyzed Floor from the west side of the north - south partition wall in Buiding 23. The unit is light to medium brown with a variety of staining and a small amount of burning. There are bones from 02 and 03 size taxa, but nothing is identifiable to element. Overall more like a 'dirty' floor than a clean one but cleaner, less trampled than one near an oven. There was also a set of 5 articulated thoracic and lumbar vertebrae with articulated ribs from a young lamb or kid, on the floor, near the dirty area. This was probably a joint of meat, the same cut as the articulated cattle set from the fill 4325 in house 17.
