Unit description: F 182 and 183 subsampled for ZooMS (DCO 2014) Moderate size unit, but small for midden layer. Probably more sheep-size than large mammal, but not much more; that is, relatively speaking a lot of large mammal. Includes cattle, pig, and sheep (one very old sheep). All body parts are present, but there are few feet or vertebrae. Variable weathering but mostly in pretty good shape. Quite fragmented but in relatively large pieces. Lots of cuts on the large mammal ribs. Some low temperature burning, little gnawing or digestion. Looks like highly processed post-consumption discard, but with more large mammal than usual. The large mammal is also quite processed, though, not like feasting. Sample 5 >4 mm flotation 100% sorted, only diagnostics recorded completely, rest as flot frags. Includes one rather oddly worn fish vertebra and some microfauna. Sample 5 and the dry sieved material each have a possibly shed tooth; penning?? Sample 4 >4 mm flotation 100% sorted, only disgnostics recorded completely, rest as flot frags. Last number = 248Figurine Records: No Ground Stone Records: Yes
