Discussion: dark fill of a small pit containing a number of clay ball fragments. Situated just north of fire installations, this may have been a clay ball pit of similar function to the one found in a similar position in Space 163. 

Recognition: Circle of dark material surrounded by paler floor deposits 

Definition: Clear feature edge 

Execution: Trowel from edges 

Condition: Firm and moist, not truncated 

Consistency: Firm 

Colour: Dark greyish brown 

Texture: Silty clay 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: 10% burnt clay, 5% medium clay ball fragments, c.5% charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: Some root and insect disturbance 

Basal Boundary: Clear, smooth, anthropic
