Discussion: [5339] was a distinctive layer of smashed-up oven demolition deposit that covered most of the northern part of building 170 that was contained by partition F.572. It represents the rubble produced by the destruction of the double ovens that were used in the earliest phase of building 17. This was spread over the northern part of the building to create a fairly level surface on which to lay the floors [5335] and build the later ovens in this area.
