Discussion: The unit comprised a 5 cm thick layer of scorched clay between the oven 828 and the N profile of the trench. İt is in front the oven entrance and could be related to it.

Post-ex 2010:
A scorched surface was also recorded to the north, (5416), and may represent a small hearth event in front of the oven (F.828). Surface (5416) was sealed by a series of surfaces in front of the oven; these varied between dark brown, mid brown and orange floors, (5412/10478).
