Definition: separate group of discrete lenses of midden fill below 5454

Colour: heterogeneous, although colour varies mud orange brown through to dark grey black. Vog humic (?) and organic looking. A discrete part was rather greenish and cessy looking. A sample was taken for phosphate analysis icase it is cess material.
Texture: silty clay - hard clay,50% clay, 40% silt test sand
Bedding: layered
Inclusions: very frequent animal bone, in particular jaw bone and ribs. The quantities of animal bone some more dense than most retrieved from the upper horizons. The lare fragments of clayball including one complete item suggests that this part of the midden was more cooking/ even feasting related actvities (more than previous horizons, although all of these items have been identifie here.
