Data Category Information: Location: external; Deposition: finely bedded

 

Discussion: Actually 5792 goes below all 1095, at top of layer most ashy and midden lik. 30 cm then deposit becomes more like infill. This infill corresponds to height of wall to W, lying below 1095 whilst wall 1096 stood higher. This infill contained by wall 1096 to South and 1097 to West. However this infill goes on between the junction of wall 1096 and 1097-as if there was a niche and a doorway 

 

Consistency: moderately compact 

Colour: mid yellow brown 

Texture: clayey silt (40:60) 

Bedding: differential banding 

Inclusions: moderately small fragments and flecks of charcoal and chalk, moderate building aggregates, bone, occasional bands and lenses of ashy deposits 

Post-depositional Features:  

Basal Boundary: diffuse, infill and dumping
