Discussion: Rremoval of upper floors in 1x1m grid, after photography of section to S of this square. Also includes lensed of occup. debris on + between floors. Block left along S edge of sq. for micromorph. sample. Some ashy lenses in amongst floors. Occup. lumps of burnt debris, burnt brick. Small flecks of red painter white plaster are peeping out of immediately underlying layer, presumably from earlier red - painted platform floor.

Condition: moist but hard surfaces 

Consistency: slightly plastick, moderately sticky 

Colour: 1x1m grid 

Texture: 10YR 5/3, but varied shades, esp. ash lenses 

Bedding: layered (laid flooring)+ ocup. deposits 

Inclusions: specs of charcoal < 10% 

Post-depositional Features: animal runs 

Basal Boundary: v. sharp, distinct, onto earlier flooring + occu. layers
