Discussion: Fill of very recent pit (cut 6598). Mostly residual Chalcolithic material recovered, but also a cigarette end !! Continues beyond western edge of excavation area. 

Recognition: Area of softer sediment within generally compacted surface area 

Definition: Clear edge between compact and soft, loose area 

Execution: Mattock and trowel 

Condition: Hot, dry, sunny and very windy 

Consistency: Loose 

Colour: Pale grey (dry), dark greyish brown (moist) 

Texture: Silty loam 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Occasional small stones and pot, very occasional obsidian 

Post-depositional Features: Abundant roots and burrows 

Basal Boundary: Clear, undulating, anthropic
