Discussion: A layer distinguishable by different color and consistency than around. Its consistency, color and texture varied- the boundaries were not always so sharp. The depth of the layer varied from the greatest in the middle to the smallest at the edges. 

 

Recognition: consistency and color- slightly looser than 7119, slightly darker 

Definition: quite clear boundaries

Condition: hot, dry 

Consistency: from soft to firm 

Colour: dark brown- mid grey 

Texture: silty clay, silt loam, silty sand 

Bedding: layered- lenses of different soil (sand, loam, clay)
