Discussion: At the top the layer is moderately massive, mid grey, light brown and yellowish. At the base the consistency is different: from soft to compact. It is a layer with many pieces of mud bricks. 

 

Recognition: by consistency - much more compact than above 

Definition: boundaries arbitrarily defined by the boundaries of the above wall 7040 and 7039 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: hot, dry 

Consistency: strong, compact 

Colour: light brown/ yellowish/ mid grey 

Texture: silty clay 

Bedding: massive at the top, layered at the base* (see description) 

Inclusions: artefactual: pottery, bones, obsidian, shell 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrowings, plant roots 

Basal Boundary: sharp clear anthropic boundary
