Discussion: This is a thin and narrow layer next to the eastern edge of Hellenistic pit. It was placed directly on brown mudbricks, which are the continuation of the wall running E-W against the southern edge of the trench. The layer is a proof that the large pit is getting smaller at the point it reaches the wall.

Definition: narrow layer at the top of the bricks

Condition: dry, hot and windy 

Consistency: compact 

Colour: mid brown/light brown 

Texture: sandy clay 

Bedding: massive, mixed soils
