Discussion: Note: an animal burrow was removed from above this deposit - there may be some contamination from this.
First layer of dark coloured floor type deposit from oven feature 111. Somewhat mixed in appearance - actual areas of compacted surface are very small and cracked. There is much more of the looser gravelly material.
Recognition: Layer of hearth fill previously excavated by Greek team.
Definition: Clear identifiaction by hard surface, possibly one level of oven floor ?
Execution: Trowel in plan
Condition: Very dry
Consistency: Hard, compact
Colour: Very dary grey
Texture: Silty but with grit as well
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: Rounded gritty elements
Post-depositional Features: none
Basal Boundary: Clear change in colour and surface texture from loose to compacted.
