Unit 8105
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: occupation layer
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This unit represents mixed deposits of an occupation layer under and surrounding unit 6694 and F. 642. There are various floor deposits of red clay, white plaster, and black layers. Many discontinuities made it impossible to follow a single contemporaneous layer. However, a sample of the black organic layer was taken for ICP, phosphate, and phytoliths. Also, a sample of the plaster "feature" in the NE of the unit was taken for phytoliths. It was badly damaged and a good outline wasn't visible. The gray "fill" area was identified by texture. The 1/4 spherical feature in the corner (SW) had a black layer on top of the plaster and the fill was similar in texture but red-gray to the round "fill" hole in the SE.
